Eastern Branch 2010

Irish Patchwork Society

The Eastern Branch of the Irish Patchwork Society is one of 8 country-wide branches and  has 200 members.

Branch Meetings are held in St Anthony’s Hall (behind St Anthony’s RC Church) Clontarf Road, Dublin 3.  Clontarf DART station is about 10 minutes’ walk - (walking towards Howth, the seafront on your right).  Bus Nos 130 from the City Centre (Abbey Street) passes the door.  Buses No 103 and No 104 run from the Clontarf Dart Station en route to Omni Park Shopping Centre and the Cappagh Hospital respectively - both pass St Anthony’s Church.  There is ample parking for those travelling by car, both in the Church car park and across the road on the seafront.

Meetings are held monthly, 10.00 - 12.00 usually on the 4th Saturday in the month. Admission at the door is €3.00 for members and €5.00 for guests, who may attend twice before becoming members.

There is a lending Library. Quilting supplies, fabrics, notions etc may be purchased from visiting shops. Tea and coffee are available before the meeting.  There is usually a speaker and illustrated talk and members are encouraged to “Show and Tell” the stories behind their completed quilts.

New members are always welcome.  Membership application forms are available at Branch Meetings or from the Irish Patchwork Society website.

The next Branch Meeting will be on Saturday 26 June 2010.

We are very pleased to welcome members of the Northern Ireland Patchwork Guild who were participants in the Quilts for Canada trip earlier this year.  They will recount their experiences and show some of the work they exhibited.

The first meeting of the new session  will be 26th September.
