Ester Kiely writes: "I am a textile artist, living near Caherlistrane, County Galway. I design and create stitched wall-hangings, accessories and textile art. My work is rooted in traditional skills with a contemporary twist, exploring themes of heritage, tradition and everyday experiences. I also teach patchwork, quilting, creative embroidery and sketchbooking and collaborate in community arts projects. Le Grá Craft Studio and Gallery opened in October 2011 to promote the work of talented Irish craft-makers, artists and designers and to offer craft-skills workshops and free events to the community."
