"Indian Ladies" Afternoon Workshop with Gillian Travis
Gillian spent time in India and whilst there she took photos of the women in their saris and since has produced many pieces of work from these photographs. The photographs can be seen on the gallery pages of her website. She has made several kits that are also available on my website. These are made up in India for me following her designs. The backgrounds are printed in India and the applique technique used in an innovative method that you will find useful for future projects.
You will have the opportunity to add additional block printing on the background. In this workshop you may like to follow the kit or you can make up your own design. You will be able to make a panel showing 1 of 4 different designs. If time allows you will be able to learn the techniques used to add stitching - both hand and machine to the piece. This is a very popular workshop and the feedback from students is that they learn far more on a workshop than if they had just bought a kit from her website.
Tea and coffee will be provided.
Cost: €35.00. Kits will be available for the class £10.00 (appox. all depending on exhange rate). Special Offer: €90.00 for both workshop with Gillian Travis - Saturday 23rd April 2016 & Sunday 24th April 2016
